Soumen Dhara

Assistant Professor

Dr. Soumen Dhara received his Ph. D in Physics in 2012 from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India. Following his Ph. D, he moved to Japan with prestigious 'JSPS postdoctoral fellowship' from the Govt. of Japan and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Kobe University, Osaka. After this tenure, Dr. Dhara continued his research as a senior Postdoctoral fellow at different renowned universities, S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, India; Cambridge University; Cardiff University, United Kingdom; and Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He has more than 15 years of teaching and research experience, and published more than 38 research articles including 1 review article in high-profile international journals (SCOPUS and SCI indexed) and 4 book chapters to his credit. He also served as an Editor in 2 peer-reviewed book projects (international). His research trust areas of interest are semiconductor nanostructures (nanowires, thinfilms, heterostructures), optoelectronics, solid state lighting and light sensors, spectroscopy of nanomaterials including ultrafast laser spectroscopy, thin-film transistors (TFTs) etc. He has been awarded two major research projects one from JSPS, Govt. of Japan and another one from SERB, Govt. of India.
