Kapilas Das from School of Applied Sciences, Department of Chemistry, KIIT, DU pursuing his PhD under the supervision of Dr. Sanjoy Kumar Maji. Kapilas Das attended the first International Conference on “Sustainable Advanced Technologies for Environmental Management ” organized by IIEST, Shibpur, Howrah, WB, India during 20-22nd December-2023. He delivered his oral presentation on the topic of “BATCH AND COLUMN ADSORPTION OF HEXAVALENT CHROMIUM ON AQUAGUARD WASTE ACTIVATED CHARCOAL (AWAC).” It is my immense pleasure to share that he was selected and announced the FIRST BEST PAPER PRESENTER and awarded the “FIRST BEST PAPER AWARD”.

Indian Science Congress Association, Bhubaneswar Chapter in association with KISS &  KIIT-DU organized the National Conference on “SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY FOR SUSTAINABLE WORLD” at KIIT-DU on 14 th and 15 th March, 2023. More than 300 researchers from all over the world participated and presented their research work in the conference.
Among various categories, 14 best poster awards were given to young researchers out of which 4 awards were won by PhD students of School of Applied Sciences. Best poster prize were awarded to Ms. Ritu Roumya Samal in Engineering and Technology, Mr. Sagar Bisoyi and Ms. Arpita Priyadarshini Dixit in Physical Sciences and Ms. Sweta Mohanty in Biological Sciences. Congratulations to the students.

Mrs. Ipsita Mohanty, Research scholar, Dept. of Physics, School of Applied Sciences, working under the joint supervision of Dr. Sutanu Mangal and Dr. Udai P. Singh, participated and presented a research paper entitled “Defect Optimisation of CZTS/MASnI 3 Heterojunction Solar Cell Yielding 30.8 % Efficiency” which was awarded one among the best ten papers out of 200 papers presented in the Research Symposium held on 16 th February, 2023 on the occasion of Silver Jubilee

Dr. Swetapadma Praharaj, Associate Professor, KIIT School of Applied Sciences (Physics) delivered an invited lecture at International Online Conference On Nano Materials (ICN 2022) organized by Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala, India during 12/08/2022 – 14/08/2022. The topic of the talk was “Electrochemical Charge Storage in Co 3 O 4 Based Nanocomposites as Electrode Materials”

Ms. Abhipsa Mohanty, PhD Research scholar, Dept. of Physics, School of Applied Sciences, working under the supervision of Dr. Dibyaranjan Rout and Dr. Gopal K. Pradhan participated and presented a research paper entitled “Thermal Conductivity and Stability of Unfilled and Mg-filled CoSb 3 Skutterudites” in the Research Symposium held on 16 th February, 2023 as part of the Silver Jubilee celebration of KIIT. Her presented paper was adjudged to be one among the best ten papers out of the 200 papers presented in this Research. The work was a result of active collaboration with Dr. Priyadasrhini Parida (Physics) and Dr. Pratap Deheri (Chemistry) from the School of Applied Sciences, KIIT.
