The School of Applied Sciences was established in 2009, bringing together the Department of Basic Sciences, which had been formed in 1997.
Comprising Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology, the School offers courses to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Engineering, Law, Biotechnology, Film and Media Sciences. It also offers PhD programmes in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
The supplied school profile records about 100 doctoral students, 40 PhD degrees awarded and 30 sponsored research projects from various funding agencies. Faculty pursue cutting-edge research, while national and international events and regular stakeholder interactions support academic exchange.

It is a pleasure to welcome you all to School of Applied Sciences. The School is proud to be a part of KIIT, whose prominence in the globe has been possible due to the vision, motivation and adoption of state of the art academic features by the Hon’ble Founder of KIIT & KISS, Dr Achyuta Samanta.
Extremely well informed and qualified faculty, vibrant research culture and a strong network of collaborators both within the country and across the globe are some of the important features of the School. We are also sensitive to respond to the needs of extended student community, society and industry through research orientation, teaching - learning support, extension as well as lending a distinct voice to the issues and challenges for the higher education arena.
