He has got his M.Sc. and M. Phil. in Mathematics from Utkal University, Vani Vihar and Ph. D. degree from KIIT University. He has been teaching different UG(B. Tech.) and PG(MSc/M.Tech./PhD) courses like Eng. Math, Differential, Integral and Transform Calculus, Algebra, Numerical Analysis, Probability and Statistics, Numerical Methods for ODE/PDE, Analysis of Differential Equations, Probability & Stochastic Process, Quantitative Methods, Advanced Numerical Methods and Computational Fluid Dynamics etc. He has published research articles in reputed National and International journals with high impact factors. His publications reach more than 400 citations with H-index 11. Dr. Das, has also organized International Conferences and workshops and has chaired sessions in international conferences. His research areas include theoretical/numerical investigations of the Newtonian/non-Newtonian fluid flow models. Under his guidance, one research scholar has been awarded a Ph.D. degree and another four are pursuing their research works. Dr. Das has collaborated with the professors of International and National repute for various research works. He is a reviewer of many reputed National/International journals such as Pramana, Propulsion and Power Research, Alexandria Engineering Journal, Journal of the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering, Heat Transfer-Wiley, Waves in Random and Complex Media, Fluid Mechanics and Research-Begell House etc. He has a lifetime membership at ISTE, ISTAM, Indian Science Congress and Orissa Mathematical Society. In addition to this he is an excellent mentor for guiding newly joined faculties as well as students. He has been acting as the Superintendent of Boys hostel since last 20 years. In addition to teaching and mentoring, he is managing some administrative responsibility. Presently, he is acting as the FIC of Quality Assurance Cell of the School of Applied Sciences.
