Biography and academic profile

Dr. Sutanu Mangal completed his Ph.D. from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 2011. During his doctoral studies, he was awarded a European Union Fellowship by the Ministry of University, Government of Italy, to support his research on semiconductor device fabrication for photovoltaic applications. His Ph.D. work involved the successful deposition of III-V semiconductor layers such as InGaP, GaAs, and InP using Metal-Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD).

After completing his Ph.D., Dr. Mangal joined KIIT University in 2011 as a faculty member in the School of Applied Sciences. He later pursued postdoctoral research at Academia Sinica in Taipei, Taiwan, where he specialized in low-energy single- electron microscopy for imaging 2D materials.

At KIIT, Dr. Mangal’s primary research focuses on semiconductor thin film deposition and device fabrication, with applications in photovoltaics and sensors. His research group is currently making significant strides in perovskite solar cell technology, achieving remarkable scientific advancements in the field.

In addition to his academic and research pursuits, Dr. Mangal plays an active role in academic administration. He currently serves as Assistant Registrar of KIIT University and is a member of both the Academic Council and the Executive Council.
