Dr. Biranchi Kumar Mahala began his career in teaching profession as a Lecturer in Mathematics in 2002 at Kalinga Polytechnic Bhubaneswar (Rechristened as KIIT Polytechnic, Bhubaneswar). He holds a B.Sc. , M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. degree in Mathematics of Utkal University, Odisha, India. He is currently serving as an Associate Professor in the School of Applied Sciences (Mathematics) of KIIT Deemed to be University, Odisha, India. He is working on Weather Research and Forecasting especially on Tropical Cyclones, Monsoon depressions, thunderstorms and climate simulations using Mathematical Models (WRF and WRFDA models). Besides, he is working as Deputy Controller of Examinations for the Schools: KIIT School of Leadership/ School of Sports & Yogic Sciences / Ph.D. theses examinations.
