Dr. Nikita Mahapatra
Assistant Professor II
Dr. Nikita Mahapatra is an Assistant Professor (II) in the Department of Biology, School of Applied Sciences, KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, India. She obtained her M.Sc. in Life Sciences from Sambalpur University and her Ph.D. in Zoology from Utkal University in 2016, conducting research in the Cell and Developmental Biology Laboratory on vitamin A–mediated tail regeneration in tadpoles. Her research interests include anuran tail regeneration, enzyme regulation during regenerative processes, and their translational relevance in regenerative medicine. She has published in reputed journals on vitamin A–induced abnormal regeneration and phosphatase activity in amphibian models, and co-authored studies on necroptosis and COVID-19 drug repositioning.
